| - This was my second time going to Brownlee, both times to get a watch battery replaced. The first time was at the Park Rd. shopping center location. They replaced my Fossil watch battery without problem, though the service wasn't especially friendly.
Fast forward two years, and I am in need of another battery. This time for my Invicta watch. I know, I don't have the most expensive taste in watches - I can be pretty tough on them.
When I went to the Arboretum location, I was greeted in a friendly tone and asked what I needed. When I said I needed a battery, I showed her my watch and she said unfortunately she couldn't help.
They did not work on Invicta watches because, I quote, "We don't do them because if we break them during replacement, we can't sell the parts." I was pretty taken aback, as I didn't believe my watch to be unique or hard to open, or a type that was at increase risk of breaking during a regular procedure. She informed me that a place in Carolina Place Mall, MAY work on them, but she was unsure as she had never been.
Two days later I went to Kings jewelers at Matthews Festival and they graciously replaced my battery in about 5 minutes with no gripes as to the brand of watch.
While the tone of the clerk was friendly, I plan to go elsewhere from now on for my watch needs.
