Wanting to get out of Scottsdale for a change a friend of mine recommended Taco Guild. Wow! Can't believe I've not heard or been yet before to this unique gem!
Located in a former decommissioned church the décor instantly catches your attention. This is unlike any other dining ambiance. Stained glass and vaulted ceilings still remain and add to the allure.
I laughed out loud when I was presented by my server with 'The bible'. Which is their separate menu of 100's of varieties of tequilas. I opted for 2 separate tequilas that the server recommended. Both were fabulous!
After that I went with their margarita with a mescal topper, which I have had previously at higher end Mexican restaurants. Mescal adds a touch of smokiness to the margarita and takes sourness down just a touch. Highly recommended for my fellow margarita connoisseurs.
The chips came with 3 varieties of all hot goodness, which I love.
Tacos were phenomenal, steak and shrimp! Definitely had zing!
I'm literally debating driving over there right now just writing this review... It's making my mouth water and stomach growl! Maybe I'll see you there as I plan on numerous future visits!
