  • Finally a fine dining restaurant in Madison worth its salt!! This was my first time here so won't get too superlative with praises but well done! Decor - Eclectic with a beautiful dim light romantic shade to it. The seating's were thankfully away from the Bar thus helping with noise reduction. Service - Spot on!! The waitress was very sweet and knew her dishes well. Every dish was explained properly, our order was taken in the right way and she kept checking in on us every once in a while. Food - Seductively Sumptuous!! Every plate we ordered had its own unique identity and no 2 plates conflicted with each other. Our order included - Ahi Tuna Tacos, Labelle Farm Fois Gras, Braised Belly, Korean Short Rib Pot-stickers. The tuna tacos were sooo playful with their fresh tuna pairing with a spicy-tangy jalapeno slaw. The tomato relish complimented both the subtlety of the tuna and the spiciness of the slaw. Loved it! The fois gras was delectable! Cooked just right, it melted away as it's meant to and when accompanied with the green apples and fig jam, creates a melody in your mouth!! The toast were thankfully moist and not crusty or crunchy and that worked very well overall. The braised belly was a surprise!! Every single element on that dish was a star! The egg perfectly runny, the belly seasoned well, seared to perfection and melt in your mouth texture, the tomato confit really enhanced the tomato flavor and that gouda biscuit was one of the best biscuits I've had in a while! Work them together and it became a dish well worth a round of applause!! The potstickers can be a tricky subject since I'm not a big fan of thick casings. These however, were just right and that short rib filling was a pleasant departure from your bog standard mince pork or shrimp fillings. The pairing of Mayo, Soy and hot sauce with it really uplifted the dish. I saved the best for last. It's their Creme Brulee dessert. But it's not about the food that makes it the best, but their gesture. Don't get me wrong, that was one of the best Creme Brulee's I've ever had (Never imagined pairing creme brulee with brownie and raspberry compote will go so well!!!). It was my birthday and we had asked if they could place a small candle on the dish when they get it out. Not only did they do that, they painstakingly wrote a sweet Happy Birthday message for me! AND gave me the dessert on the house!!!! No one has ever done that in any of the places I've dined. Very very kind of them. This is at the top of my list of go to restaurants for Round 2 in Madison. Please do give them a try and I'm sure you wont be disappointed!!
