DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR YOUR POINTS! The Marriott Canyon Villas is part of the Marriott Vacation Club and is a beautiful property with great amenities. Unfortunetly, the staff and management are so rude, disrespectful and poorly trained that you aren't able to enjoy the resort. My husband and 3 kids recently stayed on property for two weeks in Jan 2018. I am not currently a vacation owner but was a previous owner at Marriott Newport Coast CA. We are Gold Elite Members and will be Platinum by the end of Feb. I state this because if this is how management and the staff treat loyal reward members, I cannot imagine how families that are new to the Marriott brand are treated. From our rooms not being cleaned and when I call down to the front desk I'm given the run around. To being charged an extra $5,000 and when I spoke to Aaron the manager he told me he didn't know what those charges were and would get back to me (I'm still waiting a week later). To my husband being told they don't take our credit card, Chase Visa, by the front desk to being told I wasn't allowed to pay to upgrade my room even though they had vacant rooms that were available and I was wanting to pay the $510 a night difference. I understand people have a bad day and if this all happened at once I would understand. These are only a few of the many examples of our two week stay at the resort. I was always a loyal Marriott brand zealot for business and pleasure. NEVER AGAIN.
