I was torn giving the Ossington 3 or 4 stars. But I'll be generous and go with 4, I did have a fun night.
The Ossington is located a few store fronts north of Queen St on Ossington. We were drawn to the crowd of people inside and funky hip-hop music. There is no cover (score! I despise paying cover, particularly for casual spots). Inside the crowd was mixed; I'd say a little on the younger side, bow-tie sporting hipsters, but then a wide range of people I wouldnt easily be able to classify based on dress. Some people came wearing fleece sweaters while others had suits on.
There are two bars and two sections. We sauntered to the back, to the source of the music :). It was a little more busy back there. The bar tender was nice and drinks were reasonable ($6 for my g/t). We then got our groove on the little dance floor in the back. It was good music, but at times it got pretty crowded. Got gently elbowed/pushed a few times, but I survived :).
This is a good crossover bar; something between a club but way more casual like a divebar.
