The billing department for Sonora Quest is at 1255 W. Washington St Tempe, so probably in the same building as this blood draw facility. The billing department is very hard to get on the phone. It took over 30 minutes today (about the same as the wait time on prior calls I have had to make to them).
I pay for primary and secondary insurance health insurances so that I have a zero dollar copay. I just got a bill from them for a very large amount of money. They claim that neither of my insurances will pay for genetic testing and that they knew this in advance of my test but that is not their problem--I am supposed to know to ask this of my insurance company in advance of having physician ordered lab work done. Jeeesh!
Since the amount is 3x my monthly pension, I asked about about a payment plan, but they will only do this if I give them my credit card number--no way!
What really frosts me is that they mishandled the sample and did not properly refrigerate it, so I had to return to Sonora Quest for a redraw!
So, hard to get on the phone, no disclaimer on tests that they know insurances don't pay for, unrealistic payment plan payment methods, and improper handling of lab samples. One star is overly generous.
