Matcha? Yes please! Tsujiri closer than downtown? Oh yes!!!
I was so excited to hear that matcha God ice cream, blended drinks and dessert had opened a second store somewhat closer to home. So of course a venture this way was a necessary evil.
It's larger than the flagship store, and at 6pm on a Saturday there was no lineup.
I love the yuzu float with matcha ice cream to top. So we ordered one. I noticed a new blend drink, yuzu mint cheesecake, so I opted to try that one instead. Along with that we also ordered a yuzu tart and matcha rare cheesecake.
Like really who needs dinner right?
I have to say I'm a little disappointed. The yuzu was very mild and the mint easily covered most of the flavour.
The matcha soft serve was nice but while you're not stiffed on the matcha, there may have been a little too much, as it left a slightly bitter aftertaste.
The yuzu filling in the tart was not enough so all you could taste is crust.
The matcha rare cheesecake is more like a mousse as it's quite light, but again too much matcha and no cheese flavour.
It might as well be dinner tho, cause the bill for all the above came to $31!
I think I'll make the trek downtown for this next time. :(
