| - Much delayed post since I went about a month ago during Memorial Weekend, but it was free museum day that weekend and it was awesome! So awesome, I wouldn't have minded paying for it.
My friend and I arrived on location around 11am and there was already a line down the street, wrapping around the side of the building. Fortunately, the line moved fast, so we were in the building within 30 minutes. As with free events, there was just people EVERYWHERE.
As we got acquainted with the map, we decided which exhibits we should hit up first, but with masses of people everywhere, we just ended up going through every one of them. Four stories of paintings, immersive films, artifacts and design in the main building.
As you walk down the stairs from the main entrance, you walk through an exhibit that connects the building across the street from underground. That building was mostly modern design - about three 2-3 stories of it. It felt never ending! And with such free entry events, there was only one exit.
So after walking tirelessly through every room, we walked out to the sun about 3-4 hours later. Seriously, you could spend a whole day in there. Not to mention, the gift store on your way out had some interesting things for souvenirs. Definitely worth a trip in and with all there is to see, it would be worth the admission.
