This is my first stay at the Pittsburgh Renaissance Hotel. Based on my first impressions, this is quite a nice hotel. We arrived Sunday evening, and we were greeted as we entered. Checking in (mobile) was a breeze.
My guest room was nice and had a modern/trendy decor (see pics). The temperature was perfectly set. The bed, like most Marriott beds, was very comfy. I didn't like the desk or the chair as the desk was too narrow/thin to be any sort of useful workspace and the chair did not have wheels as in typical Marriott properties. Overall it limited the potential for working.
Currently the property is going through some renovations and the concierge lounge is located in one of the meeting rooms. Overall the set u was nice and the only amenity not offered was a tv.
The location of the Renaissance is perfect. It is a short walk to our offices and is right across from the ball park. The theatres are close by as well.
The only negative I have is that there was mold in the grout in the bath area. This is a common problem I see in many hotels even in those of a high caliber. They need to properly treat and then seal the grout.
