  • Let's go back about several years, when my one daughter went in for a sore tooth to Marketplace, was told that she needed extensive work (including root canal). This process was done, we had dual insurance and they told me how great it was as "all" that I owed was $980.00. Now I know that I am to blame for not questioning this exorbitant cost, but never having had any teeth problems (besides braces, which we did NOT get here), I assumed I was being quoted an accurate price. I paid the fees, then received the itemized bill from the office, when I looked at it, they had overcharged by a LARGE amount what was "customary and normal". Fast forward a year later, my daughter starts to have massive pain again in the same tooth, went to a different dentist who stated that such a shabby job had been done, they needed to extract the tooth as it was irreparable. Asked her several times who the dentist was that had done the previous procedure as they were in disbelief. Now we have found a dentist that we are 100% happy with and trust completely. However, my other daughter started to have excruciating pain in her tooth and tried to get in to see our regular and unfortunately the did not have any openings for a couple days so I told her to just go and see if Marketplace had any openings just to see what was up, hoping MAYBE things had changed in a couple years. They were able to get her in right away, so she verified that nothing had changed insurance wise with us, and yes they did take our insurances (note pleural). SHOCKING she needed to have a root canal and crown. AGAIN she verified that our insurance had not changed. I receive a frantic call from her (understand she is 21, so an adult i dont need to be with her. HA) stating that they have done the process, and are now asking for 1200. i asked to speak with the front desk, and inquired how with 2 insurances it could remotely close to being that total. She informed me at this point, that ohhh.. so sorry, we no longer take the 2ndry insurance. Why was this not told PRIOR to, and dont agree when asked that all information you have is still current! I questioned even with the one insurance the price and asked several people who i knew had had similar procedures and they said they had only paid @ 400. Complete overcharging!! NEVER will go back!
