| - All I can say is WOW!!! This hotel sets the bar that every other hotel needs to live up to. Now, I will caveat that it is not cheap and I stayed for business so I didn't have to pay the bill. It's a beautiful, newly remodeled (or extremely well maintained) and spacious room with a decent-sized tv, two closets (with bathrobe, shoeshine equipment), mini bar and Bose sound system for an iPod. The bathroom has a separate bathtub and shower - and a separate water closet (i.e., toilet in an enclosed room). So, a very nice room.
However, every little detail is taken care of in this hotel room. In the bathroom, the tv image/sound is inset in the bathroom mirror, there is a pullout magnifying makeup mirror, mirror in the shower and even a small tile that sticks out in the shower for a woman to put her foot on for shaving her legs. What?
In the hotel room, on the desk is a little caddy with post it notes, pens and paper clips. There is a charging station with a "vault" for all your cords. When you open the closet doors, the light automatically comes on. So many little niceties. Some I have seen in other hotels, some I've never seen but never all in the same place!
The hotel bar is very nice and we entertained clients there a couple of times. We have also eaten in the neighboring BLT Steak restaurant which I will review in a separate entry.
The service is great also. Front desk guy hit it out of the park when I was checking out by helping me with getting my points applied and personally getting me a cup of hot tea from the kitchen because they were out at the hospitality station. I forgot my toothbrush and housekeeping brought up a pre-packaged toothbrush and tiny tube of paste within a few minutes.
If you want to stay at a hotel where you feel and actually are pampered, this is the place. Great job, Ritz!
