I moved from Colorado not too long ago and I must say, I have been spoiled with amazing hikes and natural scenery there. The thing that I missed most was the hiking when I moved here to Vegas. What I didn't realize, is that Nevada has its own breathtaking hikes and views as well! This is my second time coming here.
My first time, hubby and I took the kids with us to explore. We stopped at two places.
Visitor's Center: if you have kids, ask the staff for a Junior Ranger packet and badge! It's filled with useful info even adults would appreciate! Also ask for a copy of the route and maps circled with their favorites or difficulty level to save you time from having to decipher every little hike. It's like a quick start!
Lost Creek is where the Children's trail is located. It's pretty easy but as you go further and further, you start to enter moderately difficult territory.
The second time I went was with my brother in law and his gf. I got to do more strenuous hikes since I didn't have my kids to watch out for. Wow it was fun. I got a seasonal pass because it's perfect to take my family and friends visiting from out of state over to the Scenic Loop! I also want to hike here more for the exercise. Maybe 2-3 times a week since I don't live too far.
The weather right now is perfect! Bring your camera and comfy shoes- most importantly, water, sun protection.
There are several places to stop and hike at. However, if you miss the parking lot, you can't go back! You would have to go allllllll the way around.
I'll post some of my pictures of this amazing place!
