| - We recently held a memorial service with full Military Honors for My Father-in-law here; every detail was handled with precision, compassion, and dignity. The Naval/Marine Corps Honor Guard never ceases to give me sweaty eyeballs, and as soon as the bugler hit the first note of "Taps" I felt a lump in my throat. The entire ceremony was moving, and I appreciated the 1st Sgt giving me spent rounds I requested in addition to the one tucked into the flag to present to family members. The Minister was friendly, and comforting, and even made us laugh a bit.
After the service, we proceeded to the area where his and my previously deceased Mother-in-law's ashes will be interred. We were able to lay flowers at the location, and choose a line of text to be engraved on the plaque along with their birth and death dates.
The cemetery is well kept, and the staff was helpful and communicative with us throughout the planning and execution. They even made sure that the shelter we went to for the service was shaded, and accessible for Scott's wheelchair since he was recovering from heart surgery.
We are all pleased that our loved ones, and all veterans are treated with the respect that they deserve here.
