| - I have lived in a Sunrise Manor apartment community since 2008 and Stout Management is the final nail in the coffin, I am out of here.
They regularly close their on-property office early, or open late. Their office staff is immature and unprofessional. They operate with no sense of urgency for maintenance related requests; I haven't been able to use my garbage disposal, dishwasher or bathroom sink for over a year.
One weekend my hot water wasn't working. I called in for a maintenance request, no one answered the phone, no voice mail kicking in. I went to the office and the staff was there, playing with feral kittens they had found on the property. I was told someone would come to my apartment in 15 minutes to fix my water heater, no one came until almost 48 hours later.
Today my AC is not working. I called the office, someone picked up the phone (I could hear people talking) then hung the phone up. So I called back, same thing happened. I went into the office and the staff was just sitting there, phones ringing off the hook. They couldn't tell me anything about how long it would be before my AC is fixed, or how many requests are in before mine. The office staff member I spoke too looked really out of it and confused, I'm honestly not sure if she even put a request in to fix my AC. I tried calling back for an updated ETA on the repairs, but of course, no one is answering the phone.
These are cheap apartments, I'm not asking for 5 star concierge service. But they have raised our rent (and only accept money orders) so simple respect and professionalism would be nice. I know it wouldn't be acceptable for me to pay my rent late, so the least they can do is honor maintenance requests and in the very least, answer their phones and have competent--coherent--staff working in their on-property offices.
And for the record, I called and wrote to Stout Management directly almost a year ago about the lack of response to my maintenance issues, no response from them either.
