  • The Carefree Post Office does not deliver mail to anyone living in the Carefree zip code 85377. You must get a PO Box at the Post Office. There is a bit of a wait for the larger boxes and it does help to be pesky and go back a couple of times to check in for an opening. I came here from the east coast and a big city. Carefree is awesome in comparison. You do have to learn that if you get stuff shipped by Federal Express or UPS they will deliver to your house. If, however, you buy stuff that is shipped by Federal Express to the Carefree post office who then delivers it to you, you must have your PO Box number on the address or it will be returned. We have been putting it as the second line in the address. Finally, if you own your house in Carefree, Maricopa County may look at your address and think you don't live in your house because you have a PO Box and set your property tax rate for a vacation or rental property.
