| - Came in on a Thursday evening as a party of two. We were greeted by a friendly hostess and seated at an outdoor table on the patio as requested. The inside was packed and the noise level was extremely high, a level that would make it nearly impossible to have a conversation without yelling. Decor was adorable and unique. A friendly gentleman promptly came to our table to fill our water glasses and had a brief conversation with us.
Shortly after our waitress arrived to discuss the drink menu, advised us that she was extremely knowledgable about wine if we needed suggestions and told us what her favorites were. She then departed and stated she would return take our drink order. About ten minutes passed until she came back. Then another fifteen before we received them by another waitress. This was the 25 minute mark before even getting drinks, which I will say the Rosemary cocktail was delicious.
Then skip to around 45-50 minutes after being seated...this was when our order was finally taken. The waitress passed by our table multiple times to remove plates, take orders, bring new drinks, place/pick-up checks, have lengthy conversations, etc. at every other table around us. The waitress never once apologized for not coming to check in or to inform us she would be with us shortly. I understand tapas and the timeline is normally a little extended in between dishes so you can enjoy your food, etc. which is fine. What is not fine is when you never even get to place an order for nearly an hour.
We were frustrated by the time the waitress came for our orders so we only ended up ordering three small plates. Spinach and feta, hummus, and octopus. All were mediocre and unfortunately not worth the wasted time. I still much prefer Dandelion Market in the area for tapas. This was such a horrible customer service experience that we will not be returning to try again. There is no reason to have such an extended period of time for people to wait, especially without notification of a possible reason why. If this is a staffing issue, I suggest management bulks up the employee count or at least train them to be communicative. We've dined in many restaurants in many cities that have consistently packed dining rooms and never experienced timelines like this. Hate to have to give a poor review, we really wanted to like this place!
