| - Currently studying for a rather important and daunting licensing exam and decided to take a break and get out of the house for dinner with my husband. We just moved here a few weeks ago and decided to try La Piñata for the first time! The decor was really cool, and the porch looked like a fun place to hang out and eat, but it was sort of chilly so we ended up sitting inside. I ordered a mango house margarita to drink. When it arrived, it was most definitely not mango (it was lime), but I was enjoying it, so I told the waitress not to worry about having it remade and to just remove the surcharge from our ticket for the flavoring. Apparently the manager wouldn't have that and said I either had to have my drink remade or I was paying for the surcharge. So, I had the drink remade. It was right the second time. I worked in food service in varying capacities for several years and would have never, ever said that to a customer, though. When our chips & chili con queso got to the table, there was a long black hair attached to one of the chips (I'm blonde, my husband has light brown hair). I didn't say anything because the impression I was given when I complained about the margarita was that the manager would likely think I was just looking for a write off on my ticket. When our food arrived, it was great. Not a single problem and everything tasted fantastic. When we were finishing up, though, an upset employee (manager maybe?) busted into the kitchen and LOUDLY (loud enough for the entire main dining room to hear and turn around) said: "if you guys don't start cleaning off the f****** tables outside...". Very, very unprofessional to use profane language when dealing with employees or coworkers, and even worse to say it loud enough that customers can hear. Our server, Lindsey, was great. She did everything right! Management, on the other hand, could use some worK. Certainly not the experience I was hoping for tonight.
