  • I absolutely love this salon, and have never once had a bad experience in the past 9 months I have been going there. I have a pixie cut, and it is very difficult to find a salon that I trust to maintain my short hair. So many stylists I have gone to do not understand how to execute a short haircut that is still feminine and suits my face well rather than just giving me a man's haircut. I now see Becky (or Laura, if Becky is completely booked, who is also phenomenal) every 6-8 weeks to maintain my short hair. She is always extremely attentive to what I am asking for, and looks at the images and examines my hair while it is still dry before sending me to get shampooed. At the shampooing station at Tula you always get a short scalp massage, which I love. Then, when Becky cuts my hair she really takes her time and makes sure it is perfectly symmetrical, my bangs are exactly how I want them, and I understand how to style my short hair in various ways. I have not once been disappointed with my hair since I started going to Tula 9 months ago, and I go quite regularly. I believe the prices are extremely reasonable at Tula. In my hometown (Baltimore, MD) I am used to paying $70-$80 for a haircut, and I don't even like those salons as much as I like Tula. I pay $40 for a haircut with Becky or $35 for one with Laura at Tula. The reception staff are extremely kind, and really do their best to accommodate my schedule. On multiple occasions, I call and find that Becky is booked up for a week. I ask if they can put my name down on a waiting list and just call me if something opens up. Twice so far I was able to come in because of cancellations at the last minute, which is very convenient for me because I live only a 10 minute drive from Squirrel Hill. They are kind and accommodating on the phone and in person, I couldn't ask for more. Also, when you arrive at the salon, they offer you drinks to enjoy during your brief wait and throughout your appointment, including teas and coffees, which I really appreciate. I very highly recommend Tula Organic Salon & Spa to all of my friends and to countless strangers who stop me on the street to compliment my hair. A short women's cut is something that it takes a truly gifted stylist to envision and execute so well, and I trust Becky, Laura and the other stylists at Tula to never let me down.
