This is definitely a "must see" on your list when visiting Pittsburgh. It's a little piece of history that offers some of the best views you're going to ever see!
Here's just a few pros and cons from my experience:
PRO's
* The top of the incline offers some of the most AMAZING views of the city.
* The price is reasonable. For what you get, I think it's definitely worth the money.
* Great bit of history. There's newspapers, photos and postcards from as far back as 1919. Amazing to see just how long this piece is history has lasted over time.
CON's
*Theres no air. At ALL. So it gets hot and sweaty in that little car really quick. Sure, it's a short ride. But if it's a warm day it's going to be uncomfortable.
* The staff here just aren't that friendly. Now, I know it's probably not as exciting for them to see the same thing everyday. But the folks that are seeing it for the first time are kinda excited. Crack a smile. I promise it won't hurt you.
*Exact change. Cash ONLY. Ugh. Also, you drop your money in a little slot. Don't try to give it to the person behind the window. You've been warned :)
Enjoy the view.
