  • There was a seminar being held at my daughter's college about a month ago, and this cafe made an appearance, offering free sandwiches and desserts. My daughter was able to taste their "What What?" sandwich and one of their cookies. She loved it so much! She'd been raving about their food for an entire month, before we decided to go last Friday. As you may know, this establishment is a big supporter and advocate of the LGBTQ community, which, I am, as well. Their restrooms are gender neutral, allowing for men and women to access the facility simultaneously (there are multiple stalls). The Bronze cafe, is, I'm my opinion, located in a rather hidden spot. You could drive by the place as I did and miss it because nothing screams- Gourmet Sandwich spot! The building, itself is pretty nice. The inside is very clean and cozy. There are sofas, cushioned, single chairs, as well as dining tables throughout the place. Computers and a sizeable library is also located within the premises of the restaurant. So, on to the food. I mentioned above that my daughter suggested the 'What what?" sandwich. It comes with turkey, pepperoni, red onion, tomato, greens, basil Aoli, oregano vinaigrette, and it's served on toasted ciabatta bread. We both ordered one, however I requested avocado be added to mine. The addition was an extra $1 charge. I'm not used to eating sandwiches without mayo, so I asked if they had any, and I was told that they had a vegan mayo. I decided to just go without it. My daughter and I chose to sit in the sofa area to wait on our food. We waited only a few minutes before being told our order was ready. Awesome!!!! We opened the bag containing our sandwiches and they had been placed in these cute little brown boxes!!! Different. Unique. I go to eat my sandwich and about 1/4 of the way through, I bite down on something hard. It's a toothpick, but in looking at the sandwich up close, you can't see it. And I know that toothpicks are often placed in sandwiches, burgers and the like, to hold them together. But, I felt it should have been visible prior to eating. Anyways, because I couldn't see how the toothpick was placed (I'd already pulled it out when I bit into the sandwich) I thought maybe it was just misplaced. But, then my daughter began to eat her sandwich and she too bit down on it, unaware of there being a toothpick in it. I continued to eat and there was a total of 4 (hidden) toothpicks. So, this is just a heads up. Also, with the sandwich comes a small side of greens (possibly green leaf lettuce?) which tasted so fresh and delicious with the side of vinaigrette they give you. In summary, we loved the sandwiches. Soooo good! Would definitely recommend and I'd go out of my way to go again. Great, fast customer service, friendly employees, fresh, good tasting and neatly presented food equals a place worth visiting!
