I'm a bit of a spa junkie so I have a lot of experience. Bota Bota was one of my least enjoyable spa experiences.
The guy on the phone repeated several times that "the only thing you need to bring is a bathing suit and an empty water bottle". So, we didn't bring flip flops and YOU NEED FLIP FLOPS at this spa - more than any other! The sight is so large and dispersed that getting around is a workout in itself. My feet were dirty and hurting by the end of it with all the outdoor, metal stair cases and ramps. When I told the receptionist what happened, she said we can buy $25 flip flops in their boutique. I mean, really?! No thanks, just train your staff better so they don't give misleading information over the phone.
Moving on, it's a very popular spa and was pretty crowded on a Thursday evening between 7-10pm. The robes we were given felt cheap and were kind of small. What redeemed my experience was the amazing massage I received! I would maybe go again for a massage but not the baths. I way prefer Spa Scandinave.
