| - I am new to this province and when I found residence I realized my next door neighbor was this fun spot! I hadn't been to Wonderland in 17yrs! and was eager for the season to begin.
My first visit back was a solo one. I have to admit I don't like to go to these places alone, as more is the merrier, but I found my happy place. I had no shame walking this wonderful wonderland as a 31 yr old, alone. To me all anyone saw and what I felt was the child in me with bright eyes and a big smile. I screamed, laughed and had the look of fright looking way up at some rides.
It was short few hour visit just to get a feel of the park, early in the season and a bit cool, it was not very busy, which was good for short line wait times and for a "solo" rider I got to the front of the line, every time.
I didn't manage to tackle the Windseeker or Leviathan due to utter terror of heights but I think when I come back with a support group I will be able to face them again.
Like any amusement park the only thing I have ever had a complaint about was the prices of food. I managed to practice some self control and not eat at the park and in return allowed my wallet to stay full. I will try the funnel cake and beaver tail and maybe a hot dog.... ok and some cotton candy, when I go with more people so we can share the costs. But all in all, pack a picnic. It's the cheaper and smarter way to go.
Ok so another part of the park that wasn't open was Splash Works, still too early in the season, it opens May 31. I couldn't imagine putting my bikini on now.. BRRRR! I'll have to write another review once everything is up and running.
I look forward to my next visit, be it a solo escape again or not. I look forward to experiencing the park to it's fullest at its fullest capacity. So far this summer is off to a great start (pulling on the hydraulic harness for another go on the Psyclone). :D
