I continue to find Hobby Lobby extremely overpriced. I went to the store for (4) 8 oz mason type jars that are $9.99 in the canning section of the grocery store. Knowing there was a 50% off sale going on, I assumed I would get the jars for a pretty good price at Hobby Lobby (they couldn't be as much as the grocery store and I would get 50% off). WRONG!! I found the 8 oz jars and noticed they also had the bigger 16 oz jars which were priced at $13.99. However, the 8 oz jars were not priced. I assumed the smaller jars would be somewhat less and with 50% off, It would still be less than the grocery store. I took all 3 boxes and my other purchases up to the checkout stand. When the clerk checked the price I was told that the 8 oz jars were $16.99!! I politely told the clerk that the 16 oz jars were priced at $13.99 and I had the smaller 8 oz jars. Nope $16.99. I asked to see the manager. I must have gotten that mean looking manager that has been mentioned before in other reviews as she was the most nasty, nasty person. Said the $13.99 16 oz jars were mispriced and that the 8 oz jar price stood at $16.99. After a few words I said you can keep everything and left the store. Guess what. The Target next door (only a few feet away) had all the 8 oz jars I needed for $4.29 (16 oz jars $4.49) AND checking with Walmart, the 8 oz jars were $4.22 there. 75% less than the Hobby Lobby price of $16.99. Really!! I find Hobby Lobby extremely overprice about 80% of the time. So, if that's how you want to spend your hard earned crafting budget--go for it. I really don't find them any better stocked than JoAnn's or Michaels.
