  • I think Apple has most of their format figured out. Hire lots of knowledgeable people, have them all work in a store, and the masses will come. I needed to purchase a power cord and I called the store ahead of time to make sure they had it in stock. In less than 2 minutes, I had a friendly representative on the phone ready to help. She asked me if I knew the model of my laptop, what wattage it used etc. I could barely answer half the questions, but with a quick lookup she had all the specs I needed to find the right power cord. Even offered to place the order over the phone with credit or debit card and then I could just pick it up on the store. I said I didn't want to pay by card over the phone, could I place the order and pay in store? She said no and if went to the store there was a 30 to 40 minute wait time. That was the only part that bothered me. Tech stores are becoming doctor's offices where you have to make appointments and wait around. It's a new world. I declined to pay over the phone and headed down to the store. The store was packed, but had like 10 employees in the floor in blue Apple t-shirts helping customers. I was spotted by one employee who asked how she could help and with my specs in hand she asked another employee to help me. I was in and out with my purchase in about 10 minutes, my receipt emailed to me, and I dodged an upsell on my old iPhone. My old iPhone works just fine lol. Good customer service, clean store, a little too crowded for me at times, but you can't beat their helpfulness.
