The concert alone is worth the $10 admission. If you're into shopping, there is plenty of vendors selling their island products from dried fruits to the aloha gears.
I missed Anuhea this year, but I heard her night was packed like sardines. Instead, I went on the last night and still enjoyed the festivities and shorter lines for local grinds.
Shave ice- oh so worth it the wait. The syrup for the first time was not overly sweet! It's amazing how they get the ice to be so super fine and melts in your mouth.
Malasadas- not so much to write home about, but it's better than nothing.
Garlic chicken- worst vendors in terms of the auntie scooping the chicken. She gave me 5 small pieces of chicken and then took one away after a second look. The combo came with white rice and chow fun, which was different and a super tasty dish.
jerk chicken- better get it while you can... Nothing like chicken cooked to perfection, but the added jerk sauce was not necessary over the rice.
If you want to skip the island dishes, there were carnival food on the other side of the festival along with the rides and games. All beverages sold under one tent, whether it's alcoholic or not to gather the masses.
No smoking signage were posted under the tents and some at the vendors. Not once did I smell cigarette smoke, which was a very pleasant experience in Vegas.
