My third meal during Restaurant Week 2016 was at The Barrymore, which Diane and I revisited with two friends after a four-year hiatus. Unfortunately this dining experience was mixed. Good complimentary bread was served, including excellent just salted enough Pretzel Bread. A Shrimp Cocktail was relatively large and meaty but not sweet at all. Lobster Mac & Cheese and an Iceberg Wedge were good but not that memorable.
My entree of Pan Roasted Free Range Chicken with Fingerling Potatoes, Fava Beans, and Foraged Mushrooms featured very good, moist chicken with fine Chicken Jus to meld all components on the plate well together. Milk Chocolate Layer Cake with Vanilla Ice Cream and Dark Chocolate Sauce was a nice way to close the meal.
It was very dark inside the dining room closest to the hotel entrance, and service was relatively slow.
* * * 1/2 overall on this particular visit!
