| - I hardly EVER yelp! but I have to post this!!! This past Saturday, our little BEAR, a newly rescued pup was breathing heavily and started foaming the mouth. Our family was totally distraught and called all the local vets and no one had any appointments available, so our last option was the Emergency Animal Clinic and we rushed him in for a walk in appointment. Dr Daughtery was amazing. Poor little "Bear" had neurological damage and his poor body was a wreck...he could not breath, and was suffocating.
The Dr rushed him into the oxygen tank and sat with us and gave us her prognosis. It was not good!! In the end, we had to make the decision to put our little Bear down.
My quandary was his little face and eyes looked so young and healthy, but his body could not support his growth. It was the first time my fiance had ever "put a pet down" and it was so hard on him. He was crying like a big dog. The clinic was so accommodating and so caring to our needs.
Well today, we received a sympathy card, hand signed from the staff.
I have say, it was the hardest thing we did, but, in the end, we made the best decision.
Thank YOU...for all your caring and love toward our little "Bear".
