| - Actually genuinely liked this place for a few months. Enough that my wife gifted me a year long membership. One class in particular, Yin, was taught by Christine (I think her name was). Loved taking the class (it was the only one I took and wanted to take). Was motivated to continue. Then soon after the year long membership was purchased, she was gone.
The new teacher was nice, and kind, but it was a totally different class. Instead of being challenged we were holding poses for 5 minutes at a time. The end of class damp towel disappeared. I was starting to fall asleep in the class (literally) due to the lack of challenge and engagement. Essentially I felt a bit bait and switched.
We called Sweat to see if there was a way to stop my membership. My wife wanted to keep going, which is perfectly fine. But I wanted to see if, due to the fact that the class totally changed after my membership started, they would be willing to cease my account and the $60 a month that goes with it.
To their credit: they obliged. Over the phone, after a couple calls (they had to check with the owner), they agreed to stop my account. Very nice and understanding of them. That was in late July.
Fast forward to today: they never canceled my account, citing it being a year long contract. Yet they never called to inform my wife.
I didn't dislike the classes (although hearing weights being clunked down behind the studio's wall will certainly keep you from achieving full relaxation) and I would have understood if they said no initially. But, they lied. They granted a cancelation, then continued to charge without informing my wife, until she called, and they gave a completely different answer. I was bait and switched with the class, so I cannot recommend Sweat.
