| - I just came out of a 4 year relationship with Planet Fitness. Anytime Fitness has been an excellent rebound, but we're looking into making it more serious.
I just recently got serious into fitness and realized I yearned for a smaller gym. I want that intimate feeling and fewer people. I researched a couple gyms in my area, but settled on Anytime Fitness because they're open 24 hours, literally. I know Planet Fitness is open 24 hours EXCEPT on Christmas. I'm not complaining because their workers deserve a break, but for someone who had NO PLANS on Christmas Day, it would have been nice to spend that time in the gym.
Anyways, you use a key fob to get in. There's a lot of machines (not a huge quantity), but a better variety than Planet Fitness. There are two things I really love about this place is: 1) the squat rack and 2) the fitness equipment (exercise balls, kettle bells, TRX, steps, etc.) I just wish they had a locker room and a bigger area for stretching. However, it's obviously not a big deal because it didn't take away a star.
So far my break-up with Planet Fitness has been a positive one and I have Anytime Fitness to thank for that. I also have to shout-out Mimi who helped signed me up.
