| - I have lived here for 2 years, I'm kinda stuck. My son has gone to the local Elem. and Middle school and wanted to go to Mtn. View HS with his friends. I rented a house but the rent got so high I could no longer afford it, so Sonora Canyon was right on the boundary line and I moved in. There is noting special here. They are 30 + year old Apts., property management SUCKS!!! The maintenance guys are very nice but they are limited as to what they can do and limited as to what they are provided, everything is fixed with a REALLY CHEAP BAND-AID. They say they have 24-hr maintenance, but I think that is something they just put on paper. If you need a repair be prepared to take the day off work or have someone that can sit at your house all day. The last year the place has really gone to hell, don't let the new paint or the remodeled office area fool you. The rent is crazy high and not worth it, they give you a good deal up front, but the next year they recoup the good deal and then some, the appliances are old, they are small and they are not energy efficient. I live in the biggest 2 bdrm/2ba, 1,042 sq. ft., rent is over $900 plus utilities add another $80. Water, sewer, trash, gas, pest control are all billed by the complex. They painted the kitchen counter tops and the bathtub/showers and after about a week they start to peel, these things are not meant to be painted. This is supposed to be a crime/drug free complex, again something they just put on paper. My neighbors smoke so much weed my family and I get high, the downstairs neighbors smoke so many cigarettes that we all are sick from second hand smoke. The ones right below me are tweekers, crack heads - something. They are not the original people who rented the place, I have complained to management for the last 8 months and they do nothing - saying they need "proof". The cops are called to their Apt. at least every 2 weeks, just a few weeks ago the cops came with dogs, riffles and the helicopter looking for those people, made everyone come out of our Apts. with our hands up. And still management does nothing. Property managers are a joke, they can't make any decision for themselves, always have to "ask the district manager" as a resident you can't go over the property management heads, they give you a number you leave a message, it says they will call you back in 24 hours but they NEVER call. Save your money and go somewhere else, move in here and you will be disappointed.
