I really love this place - definitely the best latte within a five block radius and I've tried most of the cafes in the area. This place is an extra couple blocks away from places like Le Gourmand but well worth the short jaunt in my opinion (any latte I've gotten at Le Gourmand has tasted awful).
I come here as a treat a few times a week and it always lives up to my high expectations.
The cafe is small and cozy. The majority of the staff are nice enough but I don't get a great vibe from most of them - except this one guy who I've seen only once and quite recently, he was much more friendly than the others. (As a side note, one of the women is downright cold, unless, of course, you're a dude. Then she warms right up.) No matter who's making my latte, though, it's always delicious and that's really the most important thing for me when it comes to a coffee shop.
The second most important thing in a cafe is the baked goods and treats. I'm fairly sure they're not made in house but it doesn't matter because they are fucking fantastic! I've tried the cookies, the butter tarts, and a mini cinnamon roll - each of them tasted good and fresh.
There are a couple better cafes in the city, but this is the best one in this 'hood.
