  • I stay at South Point regularly so I have eaten here many times. Anyone who pays full price should get a player's club card and use the half price coupons they give you at check-in. When using both Breakfast for two is under $10 total, and lunch is under $12. That price can't be beat, for an average meal with plenty of choices. Even dinner at full price for about $18 per person is fair. Service is usually great. This place gets bad reviews from people who don't know buffets or have high expectations and small wallets. Due to their inexpensive prices and free parking they get their share of idiots who think they are expert diners. Bottom line: You get what you pay for and I have very few gripes. Here are a few things to keep in mind: Vegas isn't coastal. I have eaten at $50 seafood buffets with lousy food. If you want quality seafood don't go to a buffet. Buffet eggs are usually runny. I don't like them either so I don't eat them. Stand in line for real eggs cooked to order or get something else. Yes the Prime Rib is on the rare side. Simply ask them to put it on the grill and it will be served like you want it. Food tends to dry out quickly on buffet lines. The catfish looked dried out so I didn't get it. The Salmon next to it was very good. They have many types of pies that are not out. Just ask for what you want at the dessert station. If they have it they'll find it and cut you a fresh piece. The Grandview Time Share is across the street. If you eat breakfast in the buffet after 8:30am you will see lots of time share groups. If you don't like that get in before that. Sorry they don't have Dr. Pepper. If your entire review and dining experience revolves around that maybe you should stick to fast food. I can't speak about canned fruit but the melon is great. Several options, ripe and freshly cut. Tip your servers. They're nice people and they work hard. A few bucks per person isn't much to ask. Everytime I dine here I can't believe how many deadbeats don't leave a tip. These are probably the same people who tip a dollar for valet parking. Anyplace that gives out free meals to veterans and their guests every Memorial Day and has done so since they opened is rare. Other buffets occasionally do promos for vets but only the South Point has done this on a regular basis.
