It was fun in a kind of scary and awful way.
To get there you need a twenty minute taxi ride from the Strip but it's a big part of downtown Vegas experience, so I think it's worth the time. The Museum presents how the organized crime affected the history and development of Las Vegas city and the USA. The exhibition covers three whole floors. They have no problem with foreign student ID's so we bought reduced-fare tickets ($13,95). And it's even another 2 dollars less if you check in via yelp.
The exhibition itself was very interesting. We've seen a lot of videos and photos of real mobsters. Some of them really graphic and morbid. They also had a lot of authentic documents and audios. Most exhibits were presented in a very creative or interactive way. If you are a history nerd or a fan of The Godfather you better give yourself a few hours there. I had a great fun taking my mugshot and trying to shoot the criminals, however I passed when it came to sitting on the electric chair (which had vibrations). It weirded me out!
I wouldn't recommend taking children there as some of the content is quite gory. But other than that, have fun :)!
