| - Had the "privilege" of meeting these fine folks in person yesterday. Thank goodness we didn't make a decision right then and there. Like most everyone going to visit these people we are in a unique and difficult situation. After a short wait they allegedly came up with some great "offers" for us and outside we went to see some of our approved vehicles. The salesman was very nice and was just trying to make a buck. At first we were given 5 choices to look at which then narrowed down to 1 after we reiterated the fact we don't have extra money down beyond our initial proposal. Checked out the vehicle which was a 2010 with 143,000 miles on it. Being realistic to our situation and also trying to be optimistic, we took a look closer. The vehicle ran fine and had a few small cosmetic problems, as expected. Number time came and we were offered a $460/mo, 3yr deal on a 143k mile vehicle, 6mos/unlimited mile used car warranty. No way. Told them we would think about it, and tried to head out. We were literally stopped in place by the "finance" guy as we were driving off. He claimed he was "offended" because after all he had just spent a whopping 25 minutes coming up with our "epic" deal of the century and we were just leaving. Meanwhile, I was literally the first customer through the doors at 10am, and the only person he was working on. So he offers a better deal (imagine that) but needed me to give him an extra 20 minutes. Feeling bad for the pathetic plea for my bad credit loan, I caved in. After another 15 minutes the next deal came in with a 2yr/24k mile warranty and $432/mo for the same "gently used" 2010 vehicle. No thank you. After some really cheesy pressure tactics of him staring me down and waving for me to come and sign on the dotted line because he was doing me a favor I couldn't refuse, I left again. 20 minutes after we left, I had a deposit on a 2007 4x4 with 89k miles, a 2yr warranty and $100/mo less payment. Moral of the story? Shop around before you buy. Good luck!
