| - I was hesitant to really believe all the 4 & 5 star reviews for this venue as I've seen those types of reviews in the past where the venue did not live up to the hype. Well I have to say that Sushi Way really does live up to the 4-5 star reviews. Went in with a group if 10 people tonight with having made a reservation ahead of time. Table was all made up for us. The restaurant was not busy at all until toward the end of our meal which was about 2 hrs after we arrived. We all ordered the AYCE & ordered lots of things & I'd have to say that almost everything was fabulous. I didn't get pictures of everything we ordered but I'd have to say we had about 10-12 more items ordered than what you'll see in my photos. Some of the rolls are the same rolls from I Love Sushi which I thought was great because I love the Cherry Blossom just wished Sushi Way's version had the crunchy like I Love Sushi's Cherry Blossom does. Really loved the Salmon Tar Tare, tuna nigri, yellowtail & Rock & Roll roll.
From what I recall we ordered:
Nigri: Tuna, Salmon, Super White Tuna, Yellowtail, Garlic Tuna, Ebi, Unagi,
Albacore, Seared Albacore, Octopus, Squid, Fresh Scallop, Uni,
Sides: Poki Tuna Salad, Screaming Orgasm, Shrimp Tempura, Coconut Shrimp Tempura, Crispy Rice with Spicy Tuna, Sweet and Spicy Dumpling, Salmon Tar Tare, Calamari Tempura, Fresh Oyster, Baked Green Mussel, Sushi Nacho
Rolls: Spider Roll, Dancing Eel, James Bond, Cherry Blossom, Rock & Roll, Burning Your Stomach Roll, Mexican Roll, Candy Cane Roll, Lisa Hand Roll,
I Love My A Roll
Pros:
- Nigri was super fresh. Tuna was fabulous. We ordered about everything on the nigri list as well as serveral "side dishes" as they like to call the appetizers.
- Super friendly service & they were on top of service almost the whole evening until the end.
- Like the fact that you can order 1/2 orders on rolls all through meal & not just the last roll you eat.
- Allowed our group to have the 10% off locals discount for their Christmas special.
Cons:
- Table placed vertical to wall didn't leave enough room for 10 people to sit comfortably without bumping elbows. Wishing the table would have been placed parallel to the wall with three 4 seat top table tops.
- Shrimp heads were undesirable as they were over cooked & you could tell the oil was not hot enough when they were fried & oil tasted old.
- Oyster on the half shell seemed to have been pre-frozen. They just didn't taste fabulous.
- Towards end of night it seems that our table was being ignored as 2 rolls had been forgotten that were ordered as well as desert for 2 people was forgotten & it took over 10 minutes to get it while everyone else had already eaten their desert.
Although the Cons list may look longer than the Pros list the cons will not deter me from coming back to Sushi Way. It's definitely on the "repeatable" list.
