| - McGinnis Sisters is the type of place I would love to shop at all the time if I was rich, or moderately wealthy. Unfortunately I haven't hit the lotto yet so I limit my stops to McGinnis Sisters for specialty items, much like my most recent stop.
We came here to pick up some coffee from Steel Cup. We attended a festival this summer and Doug from Steel Cup was there presenting his gourmet coffee. We fell in love with the Whiskey Barrel-Aged coffee. Per their website: "We aged raw, single origin, Peruvian beans for over two months in rye whiskey, barrels furnished by Pittsburgh's Wigle Whiskey, an organic distillery." You can purchase this coffee at several retailers or online. McGinnis also carries a variety of other items including produce, meats, cheese, and seafood to name a few. Their prices tend to be a little high based on the quality of the goods.
While there I noticed a sign outside advertising their Fresh Amish Turkeys for Thanksgiving. I decided to inquire within since I have always wanted to cook a fresh bird for turkey day not to mention free ranged and hormone free! I secured a 16 pounder which is way too big, but we love leftovers. The price was a lot higher than you will pay for a frozen butterball, but I think it will be worth it in the end. Great stop for specialty items.
