  • If I don't have to interact with agents (who have such a tough job dealing with people), I avoid them at all costs and after my experience with United last week my gut was right. Unfortunately a company had booked my middle name as my last name on an international ticket. I called this company before heading to the airport and was told that things had been fixed. I arrived at the United counter to print my ticket from the machine but could not do it so unfortunately had to make my way to an agent from the regular line (note I am a premier member but went through this way as there was not a lot of people in line and didn't think much of it). I was waved by the woman under the "First Class/Premier" signage and explained to her the scenario. She paused for a brief moment and the agent next to her started talking to the couple next to me and so I looked over. The agent who was helping me put her hands on the counter and said "She's talking to them. You're talking to me. Look over here." So much for being in the customer service industry... This agent proceeds to help me by making some calls but still with a cold air. She couldn't make any progress and told me that I needed to take up getting my ticket changed through the company that the ticket was booked through in order for them to give me my ticket. Then she proceeds to say "Step to the side and let me help my first class clients" and motions over to this other couple from the regular line, who corrected her by saying they were not in first class. This whole entire experience with this agent made me mad though I held it all in given that she had potential power. Ultimately I got everything fixed on my end and the United agent who helped me out after was friendly but really I am appalled and frustrated at the way I was talked to by this particular United agent. RUDE and no manners what so ever!
