| - This review is solely based on food because I ordered this for take-out. My lunch consisted of:
Baked Lobster Rolls
Scallop & Salmon Nigiri
Spicy Scallop Hand roll
Filet Foie Gras Skewer
First Impression, Fish pieces for the nigiri was relatively smaller than other a la carte places. Foie Gras Skewer, I was expecting a bit more for the price of $18. It was literally just 1 skewer. With super thin slices of Foie Gras between meat and asparagus.
For the taste, the salmon, I couldn't tell too much how fresh the fish was. It had a little bit of aftertaste, a bit fishier than normal, although did not have a freezer burn taste, so I can't tell. The scallop tasted fresh though.
Spicy Scallop Hand Roll, might be too spicy for some people, but I like my food SPICY. So I enjoyed the taste, but the texture was just too mushy.
The Foie Gras Skewer - biggest let down of my whole order. There was literally not any noticeable foie gras on this. I was expecting more. You can't even taste it. The beef filet was dry. Bleh.
The only thing I semi-enjoyed was the baked lobster rolls. Chunk of lobster in each bite. But even so, still mediocre at best. Sushi Roku didn't really do it for me. It definitely did not live to its hype. Overpriced, and mediocre.
