Like Nick Z, I have never written a review(though I am sure I will write more now) and I created a yelp account because of JB's. It's everything you expect from a hole in the wall BBQ place next to a gas station in south madison. Meaning it's the best damn barbecue you're gonna find. My first trip I just had the pulled pork shoulder sandwich. For me this is always a baseline sandwich and then you move on up to ribs/brisket etc. The pulled pork was excellent. Tender, moist as hell, with (I think) a dry rub and then a homemade bbq sauce on top. I'm no expert on bbq, so all I can say in laymans terms is that it was damn good. The proprietor(I think) shot the breeze with me for a minute and then gave me a sampling of the okra, which was also damn good. Tender but not slimy with great flavoring and just a little bit of kick (3/10 spicy). I can't wait to go back and try the whole menu. Including alligator and gizzards! I sometimes have the impulse not to tell too many people about a place as good as this, so it stays a secret for as long as possible. But not this time. These guys deserve all the business they can get, and I don't think I could keep it a secret if I wanted to. Go here asap!
