  • Great selection of books, super cozy, well organized. Friendly owner. I went to Pittsburgh to visit my family and am smitten with this new bookstore in Squirrel Hill. This place feels like you are hanging out in a friend's living room browsing their bookcases. There are tons of comfortable places to sit and it is the kind of store that invites you to linger. It is so homey and cozy. I noticed I was not the only customer who didn't want to leave - there were families and other shoppers hanging out as long as I did and it kind of felt like I was at an open house or a party. The store has a combination of used and new books. (The used books are in really good condition.) I walked away with two shopping bags full of both. They have a good fiction and non-fiction section, great cookbooks, an extensive LGBT section, and loads of good graphic novels. I'm a geek who especially liked their collection of books about language, reading, and writing. I don't have kids but need to pick up children's books as gifts. I am too lazy and disorganized to order them ahead of time online, so it's especially nice to have a local bookstore to go into. The kids books are in these cute little cubby rooms and the kids who were in the store went gaga over having their own tiny place to read books. Lots of beautiful ones with great artwork.
