| - I recently visited the Croc store in Boston and I was in the market for a small gift for my eccentric aunt who has a Croc shoe wardrobe to rival any store (I had hoped to get her a small Croc accessory, as I had seen mini-Croc shoe key chains online, as well as plastic charms you can attach to your Croc shoes). When I entered this store, I was struck by the strong smell of rubber in the air. I'm not kidding, it was strong! There was no such smell in the Boston Croc store. Is this healthy?
This store was large, but somehow sterile (which is odd, considering how bright and colorful and ... fun Croc shoes are). This store was reminiscent of a small warehouse, with the shoe racks lined up in a linear fashion, and nothing... fun or bright or colorful in the way of furnishings or décor or artwork. It was just sterile and utilitarian.
The store was bustling when we got in and I asked an employee who was carrying around show boxes to a customer if they had any Crocs accessories, and they showed me a small bottle of cleaner for your shoes. I said no, I was looking for something cute and fun for a gift. They directed me to some socks but they were fairly plain and not Croc-related in any way (if they had pictures of Croc shoes on them, I'd have gotten them. But they didn't and were somewhat non-descript). Wouldn't you think, for a whole store devoted to Croc shoes, they'd have some fun Croc-related accessories? No, not here.
I left with nothing in hand. Bummer.
