| - I would never rent here again. My original car was meant to cost $96, plus an underage fee of about $25 a day, and then the cost to fill up the tank at the end. When we arrived, the gentleman told us our car would not suffice for us as it was too small (found out later, through expedia, that it was in fact a larger car) and that because I booked through Expedia, he could give me a very low rate on an upgraded car. He told me it would be $105 for the entire trip for the car, plus the above mentioned fees, which would total out to a little over $200. I triple checked that he was positive it would only be that much, as it seemed hard to believe, and it said it would. The price on the screen showed almost $400 when I went to sign, and when I asked why, I was told that all of that money was a hold to guarantee that I would bring the car back to them. I asked after the receipt was printed why it said almost $400, and again was told it was a hold that would fall off when I returned the car, and then I would pay the agreed upon amount. I tried calling their 1800 number three times for help, and each time it came up as "This number is disconnected." Long story short, I return the car (to their sister agency, because apparently this agency was closed for the day) and ask the gentleman about releasing the hold. He told me that it was not a hold, but was a charge, and there was nothing he could do and to call the same 1800 number that wasn't available before. I had him call for me, and suddenly it worked! The woman on the phone was less than helpful and essentially said that even though they admit it was the employees fault, they can't help me. I received an email stating that they wouldn't help me because I didn't contact them earlier, even though the original employee that rented me the car assured me it would all be taken care of in the end. My three day rental costed me almost quadruple the first car I chose. A friend that works for the sister company told me that employees earn commission on upgraded cars, which is why this company misleads their customers. Now my credit card company is handling a dispute on the charges, since it is considered a false authorization. I would steer clear from this company.
