We were looking for a place nearby to get our puppy spayed. We saw Homeward Bound had great reviews and called them for general prices. The spay for dogs was reasonable. The morning of, I arrived with our puppy and it was a busy experience. There was a line outside the door and my lab was extremely excited to see all of the other animals, who were about take a nap and wake up with missing parts. She barked the entire time we were in line. So embarrassing! The staff didn't mind at all and were accommodating. Besides the dirty looks from other customers thinking my dog was going to eat theirs... The wait was long. Don't make the same mistake I did if you are getting there when they first open in the morning. I waited before going inside to let my dog calm down (didn't work). Therefore, it placed me from #5 down to #12 to check in. After about 30 minutes we were placed into a room to wait for the doctor. Another 15 minutes went by before the doctor came in. She was very nice, answered all of my questions, explained the procedure and what was going to happen/things to look out for. I didn't feel rushed at all. The procedure went great and the recovery time was about 6 days before my puppy ate the cone of shame off of her head. My only complaint was my puppy got sick after the procedure and due to my fiancé and I both being at work and unable to answer our phones, the staff wanted to give her a dog form of zofran (for nausea and vomiting). The staff waited for a call back to give the medication to our girl because it was going to be an extra charge. I feel the staff should have given the medication right when she got sick so she wasn't miserable and laying in her own vomit; and at that point if the customer refuses to pay the extra fee, the clinic should just eat the bill of the medication. Just my two cents.
