Happiness - 2/5
I know micro-bars are a thing now, and I have enjoyed some of them (shout out to Rott n Grapes and Whining Pig), but this is ridiculous. The entrance is below a loud live-music playing coffee house/bar above. This creates a bunch of congestion as you have one stair case with which to enter or exit a very small (but awesomely tiki/pirate designed) space. They have the host stand at the bottom of the stairs, causing a bunch of congestion from people standing on the stairs waiting for a much prized spot. Why not put the host stand at the top and save people the fight down the stairs when there is so much waiting room in the coffee house above? Because of the small space, my friends and I had to sit across the aisle from each other, which was awkward.
It took 15 minutes from ordering the drink to receiving it, which is just entirely too long. This was unfortunate for the bar as well as it meant I only ordered one drink during my stay. Given the noise, cramped conditions, lack of food, and shouting across the aisle, we didn't stay long. Also if you don't like rum, this is NOT the place for you (virtually every drink was rum based).
It's a cool concept, but the execution left much to be desired.
