So my salon closed & I've been searching for another one in the same area (Danforth) I get schellac French manicure every 3 weeks & pedi's every 6 weeks or so. I decided to come here because the decor was appealling & the place always looked packed.
I came on Saturday afternoon & called ahead to say I was coming (in case I needed an appointment) the guy on the phone said I didn't & when arrived, the place was certainly busy but I got served right away so no compliants there.
The woman I had was kinda bitchy, not to chatty, but she was extremly speedy doing my nails. She totally knew what she was doing & my nails looked amazing when they were done so I can't complain about the quality of the work.
I tried to express to her that I was looking for another nail salon to call my home & my old one (after almost 2 years) had closed... She didn't seem interested. Normally I don't care how chatty the technicians are but I felt kinda weird since everyone else seemed to be in a nice convo with their technicians! So I felt kinda obligated to chat a bit. My girl just kinda seemed annoyed with me.
So I guess my only complaint would be that the staff wasn't very warm to me. I didn't get ANY special treatment like everyone else who walked in the door did so that sucked. I figured I needed to come back & prove my regularity to them.. Which is kinda shitty but go figure.
All in all, the price was right, I didn't tip as hefty as I normally would have since my technician just seemed annoyed with me from the get go even though we said all of 3 sentences to each other!!! I figured it was busy & maybe she was just having a bad day.
I'll be coming back definitely on a quieter day & perhaps get a different technician. The place is clean enough that's for sure! Modern & everything was wiped down. It was a bit cluttery & messy but for a busy saturday I don't blame them for having a few magazines tossed everywhere.. The quality of the french manicure I got was amazing!!!!!! I'd recommend it for sure! Just not on a busy day cause I can understand how some of the past reviewers felt a little rushed.
