An absolutely perfect vibe distinguishes this place from the 74,935 other wine bars in Scottsdale. You sort of need to know where you're going, because it's down an alley on the back side of a building and if you miss the sign on the street, you'd never find it. Behind a rustic wooden door is a terrific hidey-hole with low ceilings (but not too low), dark lighting (but not too dark), and a large selection (but not too large). Perfectly pitched for a relaxed evening for someone solo, a couple, or a group with a range of seating options. (Couches will fill up quickly on busy nights, but duh.) Servers know their stuff and the prices are reasonable. A $6 cheese tray comes with all kinds of accoutrements and is almost a meal in itself. An atmosphere all its own, and a place I always try to hit when I'm in town.
