  • Great outdoor dining option with view of Bellagio fountains My recent trip to Vegas caused me to eat at 3 different French restaurants: Bardot Brassiere, Mon Ami Gabi, and Bouchon. Mon Ami Gabi was a great value option for French food in Vegas, but not the tastiest (That's Bardot Brassiere). We had reservations to eat at 6:30, we got there a few minutes beforehand and requested an outdoor seat so we coul watch the Bellagio fountains. The waitress told us 15 to 20 minutes as outside was completely full (whereas inside was 60% empty at that time). We walk back into Paris to kill the time... but about 2 min into the walk our buzzer goes off. Always a pleasant surprise. There was plenty of heaters on the outdoor patio, so even though it was a bit chilly it was very comfortable. The strip was noisy, but not enough to distract from the meal, and the music being played on the patio was soft enough to have a conversation. There definitely is a great view of the Bellagio fountains, and you can hear the music fairly well. Every table gets started with french bread, butter, and a carrot salad. The carrot salad was delicious, simple but flavored very well. The french bread was mediocre, good but nothing I don't feel like I could get anywhere else. We started with the mussels in white wine sauce and french onion soup. The mussels in white wine sauce were ok at best, the sauce was a bit light for my taste and didn't really hit the spot for me. The French onion soup was very good, not too salty but still flavorful. The cheese was of excellent quality as well, really gave it a great chewiness to go with the broth. For main course, my friends got the scallops appetizer which was great. Scallops were cooked perfectly and the cheese paired very well with them. We also got a Beef Bourgiogne which was decent. The meat was fairly tender, and the noodles had a great texture. Again, I felt that the sauce was lacking some flavor or complexity, maybe I'm just not used to French food. However, the prices weren't bad for strip dining, so it was decent food for the value.
