  • Hundred Acres Manor was my final haunted house for the season. It had snowed for the entire first half of the day yesterday. It was so foggy and seriously spooky as we drove on the dark winding road leading up to the attraction. It was SO COLD. I was bundled in mid-winter gear as there is nothing worse than not having fun at a haunted house because you were ill prepared for the long line and freezing cold. We quickly found parking on a Saturday night and were ushered to the ticket booth. General admission tickets were actually a dollar cheaper than most of the other haunted houses we were too. It was THE Saturday that people celebrate Halloween and there was NO LINE. I was pleasantly surprised but also just a little worried. Sometimes no line can mean the haunted house is a dud. Lucky it was the cold wetness and not the quality of the attraction. The queue is all outdoors, so if it's cold be prepared with warm gear. They also sell some snacks and drinks at a stand there, so as long as you're not afraid of pants peeing like I am... have at it. The special effects in parts of the haunted house are AMAZING. Video graphics and sound that really surprised me. It had several different sections with themes. The actors we're great, and there wasn't nearly as much "jump n' scare" as it was some seriously disturbing situations. My only qualms with this haunted house run as follows: Short lines, but still packed inside with people... a constant stream in front of and behind us so we got almost none of the "jump n' scare" bits. It also caused the maze just a lot of standing in line instead of wandering through a hopeless dark unending nightmare. Wet EVERYWHERE. There are parts of the haunt where water is part of it, but the floor/ground was just wet everywhere. I slipped twice and almost fell down. The best bits: Seriously disturbing visuals. A nice long haunted house. Variety. Cheaper than most. A creepily desolate location, but not so far outside the city that you feel like it's not worth the trip/gas money. In all, aside from the "I'm an old lady and I slip and fall" situation, this is a great haunted house. ESPECIALLY for the cheaper price!
