| - Markham/Richmond Hill businesses are not as proliferate on the internet as Toronto businesses, so I thought I'd get the ball rolling.
Hashtag best Japanese style manicure in the GTA. Unlike the abundance of nail salons that spawned like weeds, this salon has a focus on Asian trends-inspired art nails. They'll do the basic and french manicures/pedicures, but the set-up is geared towards decking out your nails with sculpture roses and pearls, princess style, or with rhinestones, like a set of platinum grills. Their understated business model is geared towards quality, so all I saw was OPI, CND or Bio-Gel on the shelves, with no acrylic/UV gel pricing substitute.
My manicurist Rita did a meticulously perfect job. She did test palettes on my nails so I can see what I am actually getting before I agree to a full set. Instead of slapping on UV gels thickly to quickly create volume, my nails were glazed over 6 times, with different colors of veil-like sparkles tucked in between. She was such a perfectionist, even a misplaced sparkle won't escape her tweezers (is there such thing as "misplaced sparkles"?)
Results were amazingly natural feeling nails, but less weak and crummy!
Her styling though, is not as extreme as what I've seen from Hong Kong (architectural cut-out's on the nail extensions!) or Japanese magazines (Lilo & Stitch sculptures on EVERY NAIL?), but hey, every working girl's eventually gotta do dishes.
