I have been a customer at Balance Hair Salon for 10 years and have been privileged to have my hair styled by Yukki Sato. I like the results, I enjoy the interaction and atmosphere there, and the price was fair.
More recently, I have experienced two incidents where the final bill ended up 50% more than the original estimate - the estimate was given at the time of booking. Both situations were with a group of bridal party members, so the amount was substantial. This made it really awkward at the cash register because I was not prepared for all that extra cash (ie Visa not accepted).
I believe Balance Hair Salon should review their business practice and internal communications. You cannot run a public practice where one business partner give an estimate and not honour it at the till. 10-15% variance is acceptable, not 50%. If prices did inflate, be sure to inform your client before the service was performed.
Yukki is an amazing stylist, but poor business practices and inflated pricing push us moving onto other award winning stylist closer to us.
